Karaage
Karaage is Japanese fried chicken which is very popular in Japan and is loved by anyone from adults to children. Freshly fried karaage is appetizing for everyone! Needless to say, it tastes the best when it is hot, but it still tastes amazing even though it becomes cold.
Ingredients (3 servings):
500g chicken thigh
2 tablespoon soy sauce
20g ginger
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons potato starch
Frying oil as needed
Preparation:
Cut chicken thigh into bite size pieces and grate ginger.
Steps:
1. Put chicken in a bowl, add soy sauce and ginger and mix with your hands. Then leave the bowl for 10~15 minutes.
2. Coat chickens with flour and potato starch.
3. Put oil in a frying pan with a depth of 3cm, heat it, and wait until it reaches 160℃ (it is ready if there are bubbles when putting in a wooden chopstick).
4. Add pieces of chicken in the pan, and deep fry them on high heat for 2 minutes. Then turn them over and wait for another 2 minutes.
5. Take them out of the pan and drain the oil.
6. Ready to serve!
Note:
Karaage is delicious to eat as it is, but it is also recommended to eat it with:
・mayonnaise
・ponzu sauce
・lemon juice
